Joy is a Licensed Massage Therapist and the founder of Embodied Vitality. Her work blends therapeutic massage, movement, nervous-system-aware care, and responsive touch to help people come home to themselves.
This body of work has been growing since 2015, shaped through years of hands-on practice, study, and listening closely to how people change when they feel safe enough to truly inhabit their bodies.
As the body softens, awareness deepens. Patterns become easier to see. Choice opens where there once felt like none. What begins as bodywork can become a deeper return to embodiment, freedom, and aliveness.
There is a steady root to Joy’s work, but no two sessions look exactly the same.
The roots stay the same: listening, consent, thoughtful pacing, and respect for what the body is ready for.
From there, the work can branch in different directions.
One session may be slow and flowing. Another may include deeper focused work, stretching, cupping, movement, or long moments of stillness. Joy draws from many bodywork tools, but the technique is never the center of the session.
The person on the table is.
Joy believes the body is not something to fight with, fix, or push past.
Tightness, pain, tiredness, guarding, and stress can all be ways the body speaks.
Bodywork can offer another way.
A little more room.
A little more breath.
A little less holding.
This is what Joy means by regenerative practice.
Rather than only chasing symptoms, the work focuses on creating the conditions for restoration, easier movement, nervous-system regulation, body awareness, and a more sustainable relationship with the body over time.
It is not about forcing the body to change. It is about giving the body enough support to soften, move, rest, and reconnect.
Sometimes people come in because something hurts.
Sometimes they come in because life has felt heavy for a long time.
Often, it is both.
Massage is the doorway. The deeper work is learning how to feel at home in your body again.
Joy’s Services
The Embodied Vitality Session
Every session begins with the same foundation: listening.
What are you noticing?
What feels tight, tired, tender, or stuck?
What would feel supportive today?
From there, the session grows around you.
Joy may use flowing Swedish massage, deeper pressure, myofascial work, cupping, stretching, movement, Thai yoga bodywork, DNM, scar tissue work, aromatherapy, or quieter grounding touch.
The tools change because bodies change.
What helped last month may not be what you need today.
The goal is not to fit your body into a massage routine. It is to meet your body where it is, listen well, and create the conditions for more space, breath, movement, and ease.
