Yoga Therapist and Somatic Movement Guide

Carly approaches her work with a love for accessible practices that cultivate embodiment, nourishment, and curiosity.  As a C-IAYT yoga therapist through the Circle Yoga Shala in Jasper, Arkansas, she wholeheartedly believes everyone has the ability to be a part of their own health care and well-being.

She grew up with a mother in New Mexico and a father in Hawaii. This allowed her immersion in some incredible cultures, for which she is eternally grateful. Her years in Missouri have only added to this knowledge base and gratitude. She assumes the responsibility to share this knowledge – that has been so beautifully shared with her –  in each of her client sessions.

Movement and breath have always been dear to her. A water baby, Carly was an NCAA Division 1 swimmer, and she continues to swim and paddle whenever she can. It is through this experience that she knows the extent to which even small adjustments matter. Carly can help you adjust your movement, breath, and perspective to bring back abilities once lost and perhaps, new goals found.

Movement and Breath Assessment and Plan

As a specific piece of yoga therapy, this helps bring your body back to a balanced state to ease pain and discomfort, increase range of motion, and get you back to doing what you love and need. With a movement and breath assessment, we will work one-on-one to help you develop an approachable at-home practice that is unique to your goals and cultivates more motor control, mobility and stability. Whatever your capabilities, age, and history, you can feel more at home in your body.

This session is aimed towards:

  • Improving balance, flexibility, and joint range of motion
  • Improving posture
  • Increasing strength and resiliency increase
  • Increasing endurance
  • Increasing energy levels
  • Normalizing weight
  • Improving sleep and ability to rest
  • Increasing immunity
  • Decreasing pain
  • Normalizing blood pressure
  • Increasing cardiovascular efficiency
  • Increasing respiratory efficiency
  • Improving gastrointestinal function

Cost of a session is $90 for a 90-minute initial session and $60 for 60-minute follow-ups.

Yoga Therapy

These sessions allow clients to introduce or deepen a practice that addresses the body, mind, and soul as a holistic system. Yoga therapy works with specific needs and issues that are unique to each individual. It incorporates breath, self-inquiry, movement, how you nourish yourself with food, energetic work, and posture.

Carly will work with you in an original and in-depth assessment of your goals, history, movement, breath, current practice, and lifestyle through the lens of Ayurveda and Yoga philosophy.  Over a recommended 2-3 sessions, you will take home practices that are uniquely tailored to you as an individual, are approachable, and are inclusive of movement, breath, aim, self-inquiry, and posture.

In conjunction with the benefits mentioned above, this session also aims to:

  • Increase somatic and kinesthetic awareness
  • Improve mood and subjective well-being
  • Increase self-acceptance and self-actualization
  • Decrease anxiety and depression
  • Increase attention
  • Improve memory
  • Increase joy

Cost of a session is $120 for a 2-hour session or a package of $300 for three 2-hr sessions.
